Central Regional AHEC Office Training: A Closer Look

The Central Region Office of New York’s AHEC system received grant funding to host a training for cancer screening. However, they needed access to a Learning Management System (LMS) that was accessible to all providers, even those providers outside of the Upstate Regional network.

Upstate Regional of New York needed an LMS to host their online training that was accessible to providers in and out of their network.

Solution

HWapps was able to serve as an LMS to host the Central Region Office’s training. In addition, HWapps staff were able to add evaluations, quizzes, and a certificate for the course. HWapps users could search for the course, learn about the course, connect with the instructor, access resources, and register for the course.

Compliance Trainings on HWapps: A Closer Look

Le Moyne College in New York was in need of a way to provide mandatory compliance trainings to their students. The compliance trainings were required from the organizations the students would be performing their clinical rotations. Le Moyne had no way to host the trainings, no way to track the students who had completed the training, and no way to provide certifications for the students to present when they arrived at their placement facility.

Le Moyne College needs a Learning Management System (LMS) with compliance training content. The LMS needs to be able to not only host the training, but allow each student to access the training, produce certificates for the student to present to the placement facility.

Solution

HWapps is able to host the compliance training course for Le Moyne College and, in addition, provide Le Moyne College training courses already hosted on HWapps. This provided Le Moyne with an affordable solution with ease-of-access for their students.

Value to AHECs

  • Sustainability
  • Business partnership with Le Moyne College
  • Ability to track student numbers

Lifelines Prevention Training

This first part of the Lifelines Trilogy educates students on the facts about suicide and students’ role in suicide prevention. It provides information on where to find suicide prevention resources in the school and community. Training materials are included for faculty and staff that provide accurate and practical information on identifying and referring students who might be at risk for suicide. Lifelines: A Suicide Prevention Program also includes a presentation for parents that answers questions about youth suicide and prevention, and it involves them in the school’s suicide prevention activities.
Designed for implementation in middle schools and high schools, it targets the whole school community by providing suicide awareness resources for administrators, faculty and staff, parents, and students. It fits easily into health class programming and lesson plans.
