Mental Health First Aid/Youth

One-half of all lifetime cases of a mental health disorder begin by age 14 and three-quarters by age 24. You can help a young person get early help.

Mental Health First Aid/Youth covers normal adolescent development and common mental health challenges of youth, including anxiety, depression, substance use, disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD), non-suicidal self-injury, and eating disorders. This workshop is intended primarily for adults interacting regularly with young people ages 12-18.

Our next classes:

  • Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 22-23, 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. each day (You must attend both sessions)
  • Thursday and Friday, March 17-18, 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (You must attend both sessions)

Cost: A grant allows us to offer this training for free to   any adult who interacts with Syracuse City School District youth. Space is limited. To register, please call 315-251-1400 x 132.
