This course is intended to support the user in understanding interventions for tobacco cessation and the use of a guideline based approach. It will also provide the user with resources to talk to patients about:

• The 5 As of tobacco control
• Stop Smoking Medications
• “At a glance” NYS Department of Health-managed Medicaid pharmacy benefit information

This course  will also provide patient resources including

• Why patients should quit
• The dangers of second-hand smoke
• Quitting during pregnancy
