Integrating Tobacco Cessation’s “5 A’s” into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Integrating Tobacco Cessation 5A’s into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) reviews the guidelines for assessment and intervention for treating tobacco use and dependence. Integrating the 5 A’s into the EHR facilitates system level process changes designed to reduce tobacco dependence. This video meets the training requirement for 3bi Milestone 5 and the training component of the Phase II Funds Flow Performance Activity 081.  This program is sponsored by the North Country Initiative. Please note that additional resources are available in the CNYCC Cardiovascular Reference Guide, (not through the North Country Initiative, as noted in the video). CNYCC, through our community partner, Central New York Regional Center for Tobacco Health Systems, can also offer in-person training which meets the aforementioned training requirements and includes an in-depth discussion of effective tobacco cessation strategies including pharmacotherapy. Questions and requests for in-person training should be addressed to CNYCC 3bi Project Manager, Karen Joncas at Karen.Joncas@cnycares.org
