New Report: Trends in the Supply and Demand for Health Workers
October 21, 2015 By Laura
Last month, the Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) released a report summarizing the health care employment trends in New York using data about jobs by health care setting and professions. Key findings indicate health reform initiatives, particularly the DSRIP Program, are fueling growing demand for better and more comprehensive care coordination services across healthcare settings. Although providers report using similar care coordination titles (e.g. care coordinator, patient navigator, community health worker, care manager), the report notes there are “substantial variation in qualifications and, in some instances, functions associated with these positions.” (p.38) Read the full report here.
