Health Literacy & Medication Adherence

In the United States, approximately 50% of people living with a chronic disease do not take medications as prescribed, and about 16% of patients do not fill a new prescription. When patients do not adhere to the prescribed treatment, they experience negative effects including worsening of symptoms and increased risk of mortality. The goal of this training is to provide effective strategies that can be used to foster better health outcomes through improved health literacy and medication adherence.
