The LeMoyne College Occupational Therapy Program is seeking facilties to host graduate level interns in central New York.
“We are seeking clinical sites where our students will be able to fulfill
the Level I and Level II Fieldwork requirements of this program and become
exposed to all the areas and contexts where they will impact a client’s
life as an occupational therapist. To briefly differentiate, Level I
Fieldwork provides an introduction to the fieldwork experience while
familiarizing students with a variety of clients and contexts of
intervention. These experiences occur 1x per week for 10 weeks for a 4 hour
time frame and students can be overseen by any qualified professional
including but not limited to nurses, social workers, PT/PTA’s, OT/OTA’s
etc. While, Level II fieldwork is an on-going supervised clinical
experience in which the emphasis is on the application of the academically
acquired body of knowledge. In this Level II experience students are
supervised by a licensed or registered occupational therapist with a
minimum of one year of practice experience and the experience is full time
(40 hours per week) for 12 weeks.”This internship program for LeMoyne students comes from a new Master’s level program in Occupational
Therapy, with a strong emphasis on Mental Health. If you are interested in working with an intern, you may contact Caitlin Esposito at 315-445-5443 or via email at oneillc@lemoyne.edu.
