There are 5 Workforce Milestones, prescribed by the New York State Department of Health, that are the same for every Performing Provider System (PPS). These milestones are tasks required of each PPS to evaluate and plan for the workforce transitions expected as a result of DSRIP.
What are the 5 Prescribed Milestones?
- Define the current workforce state
- Define the future workforce state
- Perform detailed Gap Analysis between current state assessment of workforce and projected future state
- Produce a compensation and benefits analysis
- Develop a training strategy
It is very important that PPSs complete these milestones. For example, some workforce milestones are tied to Achievement Values, which impact payment to the PPS. Furthermore, the process of completing workforce milestones allows a PPS to create a strategic plan for workforce transition and to set the baseline for both Workforce Impact Analysis and New Hire Analysis.
